Theme of the week : Weather and fun activities

Curriculum Highlights

Welcome to our Summer School as infants and toddlers!

It has been lovely seeing our little ones , back for Summer School, and not only that, but their dressing was matching the summer vibes . Thank you so much for making this fun with them talking about their clothes as well, they looked really proud. And for our infant friends, we adored their cute outfits as well.

On Tuesday, we started strong with sunny weather, having to explore the sun and what we need in this particular weather. We made some sunglasses to keep our eyes from the sun rays and also our Toddlers made the sun and some clouds. They had to tear the flower paper to make the clouds and glue them in place.

On Wednesday,we talked about comfort foods in the hot weather and what we can do to stay hydrated. They drank some water from their bottles as a way of showing how to be hydrated. Our infants then went on to do some water play, and color sorting, scooping some foam paper into bowls of like color. Whilst our Toddlers had to go to the ice cream shop and count how many scoops they wanted for each ice cream cone. Our target language for this was, "I like...( ice cream flavor)" then get your scoops. They really enjoyed their respective activities.

On Thursday, we explored a rainy day. What it looks like, how it feels and what we can wear when its raining. The infants had to work their fine motor skills as they carefully place each raindrop in a box. This helps with focus and precision. The Toddlers had fun spreading the raindrops (paint) all over the umbrella. I also spritzed some water at them, just to let them experience a little drizzle in class.

On Friday, we rounded the week with a watermelon squishing activity. They had to try and make a juice with a full watermelon. Both classes tried this using different approaches : the Infants had to squash it in a zip lock bag whilst the Toddlers had to remove all of it and squeeze using their hands. This was so much fun and our class was watermelon fragrance!
